STACK Cybersecurity Receives MVAA Employment Impact Award
May 21, 2026
STACK Cybersecurity has been recognized by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency with the Employment Impact Award, presented at the MVAA Leadership Summit on May 12, 2026.
The award honors employers that create new processes, programs, and practices that improve how military-connected employees are hired, retained, and supported.
MVAA Employment Analyst Erik Schreur accepted on behalf of STACK, presented by MVAA Deputy Director Todd Butler and Director Terry J. Sabo.
STACK is a Silver-level Veteran-Friendly Employer and a Gold-level Veteran-Friendly School through MVAA.
We developed Michigan's first Department of Labor-certified cybersecurity apprenticeship program, approved to accept GI Bill benefits. Apprentices earn a paycheck while gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity and compliance work. We pursued GI Bill certification because we believe a veteran who just left the service and hasn't yet built industry credentials is still a strong candidate. The skills are there. The discipline is there. The rest can be learned here.
Are You a Veteran Looking for Your Next Mission?
At STACK, we don't care about fancy degrees or certifications. We care about outcomes. Veterans follow process, stay composed under pressure, and take responsibility when the stakes are high. Those are exactly the habits that matter in cybersecurity, and they're habits veterans already have.
The Impact Award reflects the direction STACK has been moving for years: building a stronger cybersecurity workforce, creating practical entry points into the field, and recognizing the value veterans bring to mission-critical work.
If you are a transitioning service member or veteran considering cybersecurity, we want to hear from you. No degree required. No certifications required. Just the drive to do the job well.
